Menambang Solusi Palsu: Polemik JETP dalam Kasus Proyek Geothermal Ijen

The Blawan-Ijen Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP), managed by PT Medco Cahaya Geothermal and supported by government/international loans under the JETP scheme, faces critical scrutiny. Although positioned as key to the clean energy transition and carbon reduction, concerns arise regarding its socio-economic and environmental impact on local communities. This concern extends to the risk of foreign funding leading to debt and corporate influence over national energy policy, potentially fostering inequality. The report analyzes this project’s failure to align its justice goals with ground-level realities.
